Indian Point Beach
Hadïh, wow its already September. When did that happen? Like, this year is flying past at Mach 1 its unbelievable. I just noticed, and I have not found time to update the blog all summer whoops lol. Anyway, yeah, it’s been one heck of a summer super insanely busy overall with travelling, camping, and just escaping city life and going to my family cabin 400KM from the smallest, closest village/town. Ooh, it was fun just getting into the water and just swimming in glacial water. It was 30 plus degrees, and it was freezing cold it was glorious. Spent a multi-night camp at Indian Point Park just for the fun of it; made a leanto to sleep in out of some rope and a tarp and tree branches. Then also caught my fish for dinner right off the beach it was legit, so beyond relaxing. Also managed to break out my canoes and a group of us formed a fleet of canoes for a 35KM paddle then we went to the range a few times and had target competitions with the cool Battleship targets i got at the LGS it was legit some of the most fun plinking with friends I have ever had during this trip we ate like royalty up there we brought Ribeyes, Ribs, made lasagna had amazing tasting and ultra fresh corn from Chilliwack we picked up as we were leaving the the lower mainland just as a last second splurge bit pricy at the farm stand we stopped at compared to my favourite place in Aldergrove but no regrets at all after our almost 17 hour drive due to all the wildfire detours we arrived at the fire and smoke free cabin in northern BC ooh one funny and expensive story from the canoe trip was since there was a biggish group of us not everyone was as comfortable in the boats as some of us so me and a buddy were like ok we should teach and demo a canoe over canoe rescue just because certain parts of the lake be a tad sketchy in places in a canoe during rough water also I got my self a brand new paddle for this trip and its a beauty i love it a bent shaft bending branches Java 11 I may do a full review on it soon cause I love it anyway I volunteer too dunk myself and my boat into water cause one i have the training and skill already and two because I’m weird and think nothing of it now plot twist i go into water we demo the rescue procedures flawless me and my paddling partner have been doing this kinda stuff for years were in perfect sync anyway get back in my boat and go look at my Apple Watch Ultra 2 too see how deep i went i was curios lol and its dead i fully charged it before we went out maybe 20 minutes before and yeah somehow my freshwater dive killed my Ultra that one still puzzles me lol i assume maybe a microcrack in a crystal or a bad gasket idk this watch has been exposed to extreme cold and a whole lot of water and mud and sand no one has ever accused me of being gentle on technology anyway on that one all is well i ordered a Ultra 4 the second they went up for sale so I’m excited to get my hands on that very quickly now. After the cabin trip made my way back to the city to start adulting again blugh lol. The first night back was an assault on the senses lol. After a month of pure silence from manmade noises, I came home to car horns, trains and train horns, sirens, and a neighbour torching their shed down and nearly taking my fence with it. It was an eventful first night back in the city, I gotta say lol. Oh, and also just recently got chased down a downtown road by a drugged up homeless dude, and the cops did not care, so that was terrifying. Oh, also have made so much bannock over a fire this year it was the first year in a while where there was no fire ban in my cabin’s region in years so we took full advantage of that by cooking over it a lot. My goal this summer was to have a summer with minimal work as i have spent far too much time working this year and also a summer with as little city as possible. Also, I have realized that I may very well be the most burny indigenous person ever on a minimal sun day with a moderate UV, I become cooked lobster red within maybe 10 minutes lol. Oh, also, I made homemade fish and chips; I only used fresh Char and rainbow trout I caught. If you get a chance to make it, it’s a solid 10 out of 10 delicious, and yeah, I had a blast of the summer overall. I cannot believe it’s over already, quite frankly :( Felt wayyyy too short did not even get the paddle board out lol, and yeah, hope everyone else had an amazing summer as well, but having said that now we’re starting to approach my favourite season personally: winter !!! I can break out the sleds, skates and snowboards and i am going to do everything in my power to not repeat last year, when I did not do any of those activities because I broke my foot very successfully on black ice it took me out till nearly spring with walking boot and crutches lol as for my next adventure i want to start planning is a cruise on the “Brilliant Lady” I saw it docked at Canada Place earlier this summer, and oh my, that’s a slick looking boat i never thought a cruise would interest me but yeah I’m considering it strongly any way all this too say wow yeah summer this year has been a absolute blast over all. Lots of great, excellent memories from this year already. Missing summer weirdly. See you next year, Summer and hello Winter !!!!
